Elemental Energies is the creation of
Elizabeth
Shahan. With
degrees in both Secondary Education and in Recreation Program
Planning she has
worked for the Girl Scouts as well as for city recreation departments and in
private health clubs both as an instructor and in management. For more than
fifteens years, she was also
licensed by the city of Washington, DC as a professional tour guide. Her
interest in Asian culture dates from her 20s when she spent five years
living and traveling in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Bangkok, and Guam.
Elizabeth was introduced to the art of traditional Chinese
feng shui in 2003. After an intensive course of study with both the Mastery Academy of Chinese
Metaphysics and The American Feng
Shui Institute, she began to practice privately.
Early success in manipulating the energy of her home and those of friends and
family included alleviating symptoms of allergies and asthma.
Already an
enthusiastic proponent of ancient Chinese wisdom, she became interested in the
science of healing qigong and qigong exercise in 2005. As a Baby Boomer with
decades of jogging, aerobics, and weight lifting behind her, she immediately
realized the benefits of this gentle exercise technique that
is kinder to joints
and muscles while toning the entire body and calming the mind. Elizabeth undertook her
initial training at the Omega Institute and
is certified by the Integral Institute of Qigong and Tai Chi under the
auspices of Dr. Roger Jahnke. She is also certified in Wuji Hundun Qigong
as taught by Francesco Garripoli and is a
professional member of the National Qigong Association.
With Elemental Energies, she has incorporated both qigong and
feng shui practice into
a business that allows her to provide an outlet for her training and share her
talents with others who are similarly motivated to take charge of their health
and improve their well-being.
