Welcome.
The goal of Elizabeth
Shahan, founder of Elemental Energies, is to
promote optimum health and general well-being through cultivation and management
of what the Chinese call “qi” (chee).
Translated as “vital energy,”
qi is a part of all living and non-living things. It
is within the human body and the air we breathe and we cultivate it through the
practice of Qigong exercise. It is in all things made by nature and by man; in
our environment, we manage qi by means of
Traditional Feng Shui.
Elizabeth’s philosophy is
simple: she believes individuals and families should have the opportunity to
create for themselves the best that life has to offer. Modern living can be
hectic and medical research now concludes that stress is the source of most
health problems. While much of daily routine is out of our control, there is
also much over which we can have power. Qigong and
Feng Shui provide the means by which each of
us can be in greater command of our physical health and overall well-being. The
ancient practices of Qigong and Feng
Shui have survived thousands of years because they
work and their methods are now available to those of us in the West; we have
only to take advantage of them.
With Elemental
Qigong, Elizabeth teaches simple and gentle Qigong exercises, which can
promote general health by increasing energy, strength, flexibility, and lung
capacity and reducing the effects of stress. Her approach to Qigong utilizes
three basic principles in which the participant (1) regulates the breath; (2)
aligns the posture; (3) practices with intent or mindfulness. A Qigong session
includes a warm-up, an exercise form, and a standing meditation as a closing. Qigong instruction may take place in group or individual sessions and is
offered in several forms to meet different personal needs and physical
requirements.
Using Elemental
Feng Shui, we become
aware of the innate energy patterns in our homes and offices and take steps to
alter that energy so that it promotes good health, secure finances, and happy
relationships. Elizabeth’s approach to Feng
Shui is as both an art and a science. As a science,
Feng Shui concerns the
interaction of the natural and man-made environments. In calculating the full
effects of that interaction, she combines careful observation with strict
adherence to the standard rules of the method involved. As an art, she makes use
of enhancements and countermeasures based on creative application of her
understanding of the Five Elements. Feng
Shui consultations may be residential or commercial
and range from interior placement to building site selection.
Qigong and
Feng Shui are ancient
methods whose wisdom is equally applicable in modern times. Elizabeth is eager
to share their benefits.
